STUNNING, VINTAGE ROGERS & GULLET PERFUME BOTTLE IN ITS ORIGINAL RED AND GOLD BOX!! This is a rare, vintage/antique Roger & Gallet “Fleurs d’Amour” (“Flowers of Love”), old perfume bottle in its original box. The bottle is the 1 OZ size and approximately 3/4’s full of perfume, it appears never to have been opened. The black seal is still intact, and is in its original red and gold labeled box. The bottle and box both have a gold label reading “Fleurs d’Amour” at the top followed by a slightly raised winged nude angel or woman. Under that it reads “Roger & Gallet New York, Paris Paris”. The box also has the same gold label on the top of the box lid. The bottle is approximately 3″ in tall and approximately 1″ wide. The box is approximately 4″ in tall and approximately 2″ wide. Roger & Gallet often used Baccarat bottles when producing their bottles and are very popular with vintage perfume bottle collectors. It is documented that Rogers & Gallet used Baccarat to produce the bottles for the Fleurs d’Amour scent. Many of the bottles made prior to 1936 were not marked or stamped Baccarat. This bottle is not marked Baccarat indicating an earlier production. The box is complete and the bottle fits snuggly in its slot. There is a slight stain where the lid fits in the box indicating it leaked slightly over its many years. Underneath the lid there is a Gold seal the reads Roger & Gallet. DON’T MISS YOUR CHANCE TO OWN THIS RARE NEAR FULL PERFUME BOTTLE AT AN UNHEARD OF PRICE!!!!! The overall condition of the box is quite good, opens and closes as intended and is very sturdy. There is some scuffing on the outside edges, and the small stain, but it is not coming apart in any way. There is no assuming that this bottle has never been opened. The bottle is in excellent condition with no chips or scratches and little if any wear to the gold label and the label shows no signs of peeling or tearing however there is some slight discoloration due to age. (please see photos) If you have questions please contact me. THE BOTTLE IS IN EXCELLENT VINTAGE ANTIQUE CONDITION. THE BOX HAS SOME LIGHT WEAR BUT IS NOT DAMAGED, OR BROKEN AND JUST WEAR TO THE EDGES AND A SLIGHT STAIN INSIDE WHERE THE LID FITS!! In 1806, Jean-Marie Farina, the heir to the formula for Eau de Cologne, opened a perfumery business in rue Saint-Honore, Paris. He supplied the great courts of Europe. Napoleon was a wholehearted user and had a boot flask specially made for him to carry in his boot – the flask was called the “Rouleau de l’Empereur”. In 1862 the heirs to Maison Farina, Armand Roger and Charles Gallet, formed a partnership which sealed the company’s future. They were to modernize the universe of perfumes and colognes. Forerunners in modern cosmetics, Roger and Gallet invented the first beauty care and make-up products (face powder and lipsticks) and they gave a new meaning to the art of toiletry. The style of their perfume bottles changed dramatically in the late 1800’s when there was an fine arts movement called Art Nouveau. Most Art Nouveau designs consisted of floral motifs, and were primarily used to design the perfume label and box. Please look at the photos, they are part of the description and describe it much better than I ever could!!
