Rare Demi-Giant CHANEL Factice Display Bottle. This bottle can be dated to after 1950 but before 1970 (when the shape changed again and the wax seal changed from a C stamp to the double C design). Made from glass crystal, with cut glass stopper, modern Chanel factices are now acrylic, glass embossed with’CHANEL’ and’Bottle Made in France’ to base (image 10). Label stamped as’Factice. Measures: 17.5cm H x 11.5cm W x 4.75cm D. These factices were never filled with actual perfume, but a special alcohol & dye mixture that was used to match the colour to that of the perfume, this original mixture is what is still inside. Please note , there is a roughly 1cm x 0.5cm darkened area to the lower right of the front label (pictured) and a 1mm flea bite to the back edge of the stopper. There is also an internal hairline, which does not extend to the external glass in any area. If you run your nail along the top of the neck, the rim of the neck and the front of the neck it is entirely smooth and solid, I believe it is due to the stopper. This was very hard to photograph and can be seen if you zoom into the area just behind and to the left of the wax seal.
