Guerlain Baccarat Perfume Bottle Coque D'Or Flacon Noeud Papillon c1937 Vintage
Here is what Guerlain themselves have to say about this bottle. In 1937 Jacques Guerlain created Coque dOr as a tribute to Sergei Diaghilev, famous creator of Russian Ballets. The bow-tie shaped bottle, today a Guerlain icon, is a nod to the archetypal male accessory Diaghilev wore at his soirees. The bottle is made of cobalt blue glass painted in gold. It stands a little over 3″ tall to the top of the stopper and is about 4.25″ wide. I’m pretty sure it is the 4 fl. Bottle, even though reference materials list that as being only 2.95 tall. The non-faceted stopper indicates that this is an earlier version of the bottle. The bottom bears the Baccarat mark. The gold enamel is worn in some places (the worst is pictured), but the glass is undamaged.
