Vintage Perfume Bottle Linetti Figural Scimitar Venice Italy Spectacular
This gorgeous perfume presentation was a very high end souvenir from the Doge’s Palace in Venice. Linetti Profumi started producing the fragrance Notte Di Venezia (Venice Night) in 1935. The bottle (glass hilt) is hexagonal and has gilded accents and red enamel dots. The blade has a medallion of a winged lion, the symbol of Venice and St. Mark, the patron saint of Venice. The metal of the blade is unknown, possibly gold filled. This showy piece has a dual purpose of being a letter opener. It is full of perfume and to my knowledge has never been opened (I do not guarantee the freshness of perfumes). It is in wonderful condition and there are only light surface scratches appropriate for age. I would estimate its age to be 1940’s-50’s, perhaps older, and it is a book piece. It is 9 3/4 long. Please look at my other vintage/antique perfume listings. My items are vintage/antique and may show wear commensurate with age.
