This circa 1900 French Baccarat Eglantier perfume bottle is acid etched, multi-layer crystal with the “Wild Rose” pattern in the highly desired Red color. The eye-catching stopper has facets and a star on the top. This beautiful bottle was made in the Eglantier design, known as one of the most refined and luxurious Baccarat crystal patterns. It features a textured fern leaf background in the clear glass with a red overlay patterned with Art Nouveau style dog rose flowers and leaves. The bottle is unmarked which means it was made prior to 1936. Until 1936 Baccarat marked their pieces with a circular paper label bearing their logo. Most of these labels were lost, removed or washed away over time. This bottle does not have the paper label. The bottle condition is excellent with no chips, cracks or repairs. The stopper condition is also excellent with no chips, cracks or repairs. The stopper fits tight in the bottle with about a sixteenth of an inch of its bottom showing above the bottle – see the last photo. It is in very nice condition for a perfume bottle that is probably over 100 years old. It measures 7 inches to the top of the stopper and 2 3/4 inches in diameter.
