1930’s PARFUMS DE RAYMOND STORE DISPLAY. Very rare vintage 1930s Perfume Demonstration Rack. This was used as a display on a store perfume counter so the customers could try the different fragrances. The five perfumes are: Gardenia; Mimzy; Camelia; Pinx; and Deviltry. Each label shows the name of the scent, along with Parfumerie de Raymond. Some of the bottles still have liquid in them. The fragrance is very strong. Rack measures 5.5″ long and 3.5″ high. Front to back is 3. The black base is hard, thick plastic, with gold lettering. It has no cracks or chips. There are minor signs of wear and age, and some scratches, on the black base that can be seen in the photos. The rest of the rack is made of metal. The deterioration of the finish on the metal can be seen in the photos. The square bottles are made of glass. They have no cracks or chips. All the bottles have their original paper labels. The labels show some deterioration, and there are some frayed edges and corners; this can be seen in the photos. Three of the glass stoppers can be turned easily and lifted out. The other two can probably be coaxed out, but I dont want to force them. All the stoppers have their wands intact. On the back of the rack, there are two screws that keep the metal part attached to the black base. One of the screws protrudes farther than it is supposed to. It is extremely tight, so I have not been able to turn it in either direction. It cannot be seen from the front. The only practical effect is that, if the screw remains tight, the rack cannot be dis-assembled. On the bottom of the rack, one of the felt disks is missing. Im happy to answer any questions.
