This is an extremely rare bottle of Moment Vole (Stolen Moment) by Fragonard. Moment Vole is one of the original 3 fragrances created by the historic Fragonard Perfumer in 1939 in Grasse, France. It was known as the perfume of Stolen Moments of the young in heart and wise in fashion. ” A 1948 newspaper article describes it as “a fragrance that symbolizes the sweet, heady, excitement of all stolen moments between lovers. It is a brew for the girl who is in love with love if not in love with a man -yet! It is evocative of romantic dreams and suggests the elusive, haunting quality of love itself. Moment Vole has been long discontinued and very difficult to find. Recently Fragonard reissued the fragrance with a different formula as an eau de toilette and soap that were especially created for the Jean Honoré Fragonard museum. Moment Vole is classified as a floral Chypre for women. (Chypre perfumes are described as mossy, earthy, warm, spicy and nature-like). Top notes: bergamot, black currant, raspberry, violet leaf. Middle notes: Damask rose, violet, iris and jasmine. Base notes: musk, sandalwood, patchouli, tonka bean, vanilla, oakmoss. The bottle is approximately 1oz in size and half full the bottle is in excellent condition. The original green grosgrain case is lined with kid glove leather and in very good condition, with a slight fading of color. Because of the age, I can not guarantee the quality of the perfume, (I have not taken the stopper out as it’s in the bottle very securely and don’t want to risk spillage or evaporation) I will however testify that even unopened it smells absolutely divine.
