Duncan Miller Vintage (Pair) Amber Glass Hobnail Perfume Bottles. Approx 6 3/4 inch bottom to tip of stopper. 3 inch bottom diameter. There are no chips or cracks on the bottles, all Hobnail buttons intact. Both of the stopper bottoms have slight roughness. This is a really nice pair with beautiful amber iridescence. The Duncan & Miller (D&M)glass company was founded in 1865 by George Duncan (Miller was the designer) in the South Side neighborhood of Pittsburgh, PA. In 1890, they joined a powerful glass trust, The United States Glass Company. Two years later the factory was destroyed in a fire and D&M was relieved of its trust relationship with the US Glass Co. After the fire, the 2nd generation of Duncan family moved operations to Washington, PA. By 1955 economic pressure forced Duncan Miller to sell its assets to the US Glass Company who continued to produce Duncan-style glass until 1980.
