ANTIQUE SILVER GILT RUBY GLASS PERFUME BOTTLE. Offered for sale is this magnificent Victorian faceted ruby glass double end scent bottle. The ends are made from silver gilt and are fully hallmarked for Thomas Johnson, London assay mark, 1863. One end would be used to put smelling salt into and has a flip top silver stopper. Remnants of the original contents still inside and I have not tried to clean the inside at all. The other end has a screw top which would have held perfume. The screw top would have had a cork stopper inside but this has since perished away. Overall the condition is very good for the age, some scratches to the glass which is clearly shown in the photographs. A stunning item for a collector of this type of Victorian memorabilia or perfume bottle collector. Victorian Antique 14K Crystal / Glass Perfume Bottle Pendant. The stopper seems to be either glued or stuck with dried perfume to the bottle but the 14K gold cap comes off as shown in the pictures. Approximate Size: 1 3/4″ X 1″. Approximate Weight: 14.8 grams. Condition: The 14K cap opens and closes properly. The glass stopper on the bottle seems to be glued or stuck with dry perfume.
