Porcelain-trader presents following object for sale. A FINELY HAND CARVED SMALL BLACK FOREST HUMIDOR AS AN OWL , GLASS EYES. Not originally fitted with a perfume bottle which has damage. German, Swiss end 19th Century, early 20th century. H/W/D: 20,5/11 cm = 8,071/4,33 (inches). In overall good condition considering its age and volume. To the back both ears with chips to tips as photos show, frontal not visible. You might find some other age wear traces not described, as they have to be accepted considering its age. Condition as photos show. I sell as is, found. (Not originally fitted with perfume bottle which has damage too, but I leave it where it is, you can decide yourself what to do with it). This is the only bottle I believe they issued, and its called “Tears of the Forest” and dates from about 1924. I do not have any more info than that, it was validated by a known perfume historian. The bottle is approx 3.5 tall. The frosted glass is typical of the many American perfume companies of the time. The detail and enameling are in fantastic shape for the age of the bottle. There is one area of residue on one side above the insect but I do not want to try to clean. I know this came from a Florida collection and I believe the owner secured bottles in case of hurricane. This is a tremendous bottle, rare for an early American commercial. The item “Marvo Tears of the Forest Vintage Perfume Bottle Rarely Seen” is in sale since Saturday, April 18, 2020.
