This exceedingly rare tiny Fragonard perfume presentation is in wonderful condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Any small flaws occurred in the making. The cognac barrel rack is made of wood and has slightly shrunk with time so the barrels are not an exact snug fit but it still does the job and they still display beautifully. I believe the barrels are made from French bakelite (Galalith). The perfume wax still smells sweet after all these years. This dates to the 1920’s. Just a fantastic French perfume collectible. This is an extremely rare bottle of Moment Vole (Stolen Moment) by Fragonard. Moment Vole is one of the original 3 fragrances created by the historic Fragonard Perfumer in 1939 in Grasse, France. It was known as the perfume of Stolen Moments of the young in heart and wise in fashion. ” A 1948 newspaper article describes it as “a fragrance that symbolizes the sweet, heady, excitement of all stolen moments between lovers. It is a brew for the girl who is in love with love if not in love with a man -yet! It is evocative of romantic dreams and suggests the elusive, haunting quality of love itself. Moment Vole has been long discontinued and very difficult to find. Recently Fragonard reissued the fragrance with a different formula as an eau de toilette and soap that were especially created for the Jean Honoré Fragonard museum. Moment Vole is classified as a floral Chypre for women. (Chypre perfumes are described as mossy, earthy, warm, spicy and nature-like). Top notes: bergamot, black currant, raspberry, violet leaf. Middle notes: Damask rose, violet, iris and jasmine. Base notes: musk, sandalwood, patchouli, tonka bean, vanilla, oakmoss. The bottle is approximately 1oz in size and half full the bottle is in excellent condition. The original green grosgrain case is lined with kid glove leather and in very good condition, with a slight fading of color. Because of the age, I can not guarantee the quality of the perfume, (I have not taken the stopper out as it’s in the bottle very securely and don’t want to risk spillage or evaporation) I will however testify that even unopened it smells absolutely divine. So please keep watching us and put us in your favourites. This is for an old glass perfume bottle made by E. Fuchs of Grasse, France who founded Fragonard. He named it after the famous painter Jean-Honore Fragonard, who was born in Grasse. The perfume bottle is housed in a wooden box hand painted with a seated young lady with long blond hair and black shoes. The inside of the box is shaped to fit the bottle and lined in silk. The clear glass bottle has the original label that reads’E. Fuchs, Violette, Grasse, France’ and it has a frosted glass stopper. The bottle and the box are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks to the glass and no damage to the wood, just wear to the label. The bottle measures 50mm (2″) across and stands 60mm (2.3″) tall. The box is 70mm (2.75″) by 85mm (3.3″) by 25mm (1) deep. Be sure to add me to your favourites list. Check out my other items.
