Le Narcisse de Caron was released in 1914 in this bottle designed by Julien Viard. It is reminiscent of the far more common bottle for Le Narcisse Noir but with a clear glass stopper and the addition of frosted flower petals on the bottle itself. The bottle stands 2″ (5.2cm) tall and is roughly 2 3/4″ (7cm) in diameter. There are some fleabites but no significant damage. The label shows some wear. In 1910 Caron released Parfum Precieux in a bottle designed by Julien Viard. This is one such bottle. The bottle is 6.125 in length and has a volume of at least 1 fl. The fragrance was created by Ernest Daltroff, the nose behind nearly all of Caron’s classic fragrances Narcisse Noir, Tabac Blond, Bellodgia, Nuit de Noel, Fleurs de Rocaille, etc. I have no idea whether it is the original fragrance, although it does bear some similarity to other vintage Carons (odd burnt rubber note). The stopper can be removed. It is in good condition with no chips or cracks. The stopper is a little rough around the edges. Rare Vintage Julien Viard perfume bottle c1910. With Art Deco Austrian jewelling and enamel cage mount. I sent the picture to the International Perfume Bottle Association and confirmed it is an original. Julian Viard Bottle from 1910 but possibly not the original stopper (but the green one looks great). The Enamelling and jewelling cage has been added by Austrian craftsmen. Probably in the early 1920s Art Deco period and easily removes (made for this bottle). There is some loss to the black enamel above the jewel on the front. And the rhinestone has been replaced. As seen in the close up picture of the stopper and bottle rim there is a hairline crack. Please look at my other vintage perfume listings. I describe items to the best of my ability but it is possible that I may have missed something. As a fragile antique it cannot be insured in transit for damage or loss I only use DHL or similar Couriers and the item will be well boxed and protected.
