Welcome to Marie’s Vintage Perfumes. This store is a collection of vintage perfume bottles from the estate of Marie-Louise Fredyma, my mother who passed away in 2010 after nearly 70 years in the antique business. Marie’s perfumes were a special place in her collection of antiques and vintage items and are now offered for sale as part of her estate. This listing for a non-MLF estate item. The items belong to another person that has asked me to list them for sale. Vintage Lalique Worth Skyscraper Perfume Bottle/Box JE Reviens 2 1/4 OZ – 5 1/2. Charles Frederick Worth was raised in Bourne. And apprenticed as a draper in. For six years at Swan & Edgars, which specialized in fine wools and silks. In 1845, at the age of twenty-one, he set out to find his fortune in. He became an assistant draper at Maison Gagelin at 83 Rue. Where he was to remain for over ten years, rising to premier commis. Among his innovations was the introduction of ready-made muslin dress samples from which patrons could choose a style; he would then match the choice to an appropriate fabric. At Gagelin’s he met Marie Vernet, a demoiselle de maison who demonstrated the features of the cloths as draped on a moving woman. They were attracted to each other very early on, but owing to their limited incomes they did not marry until May 21, 1851. Maison Gagelin showed several of Worth’s designs there and although they caused great consternation in their departure from current fashion, Gagelin was awarded a gold medal for. In 1858, Charles Worth established the custom of sewing branded labels into bespoke garments, created at Worth’s atelier in Paris, and would prepare a portfolio of dress designs which were shown on live models at the House of Worth. Worth combined his individual tailoring with a formula and standardization more characteristic of the ready-to-wear clothing industry today, which at that time was just beginning to emerge. In 1936, the House of Worth showed a first collection at 120 rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré, under the direction of a fourth generation of the Worth family, Jacques and Roger. Worth was one of the first couture houses to extend its name to luxury perfume. Measures 4 1/2 tall. I can find no cracks or repairs. The stopper is easily removable. The felt lining in the base is excellent and the bottle fits snugly. There is an adhesive-like residue on some of the chrome areas on the outer shell (see photos). It may be removable but I dare not try. I will let someone more qualified than I detail such an important piece. The label on the underside of the bottle is still firmly attached and in great shape. Light wear to the black paint on the bottle. Perfume residue inside and out as shown in the photos. On the underside of the stopper is engraved “293”. A few tiny flea bites around the lip of the bottle opening. Twelve photos posted and questions are welcomed. Wrapped and packed with great care. Vintage WORTH PERFUME BOTTLE’JE REVIENS, LALIQUE Skyscraper bottle and original box Bottle is the Art Deco blue ribbed glass skyscraper shape first designed in 1932, though this bottle probably dates from a little later. Bottle is now empty but beautiful scent lingers when you remove the stopper. The stopper is ribbed turquoise glass. A little of the original gold thread remains around the neck. This listing is for a lovely vintage Lalique blue glass tall skyscraper perfume bottle with blue opaline glass stopper made for the J E Reviens scent by Worth, Paris. This desirable bottle has a vertically ribbed molded body in a skyscraper shape. Stopper has the same ribbed design as the bottle. Bottle is full but is a “factice” bottle used for display only. The stopper is tight and we have not tried to remove it. Original silver cord wrapping around neck as found. The bottle is signed on the bottom Lalique, 2 1/4 Fl. Bottle Made in France, Worth. The bottle is in excellent Estate condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The bottle (as shown with stopper in place) measures 5 3/8″ high and has a 1 1/4″ diameter base.
