Offered for your consideration is this exceptional and rare French perfume bottle dating circa 1880 and standing 5.5 cm in height. This scent bottle is made of tested 800 standard continental silver with a vermeil finish and hand painted enamel featuring a stork and butterflies amidst foliage and flowers all on a glossy black enamel ground. The cylindrical bottle has a hinged lid which opens to reveal a bright and shiny gilt finish and the internal clear glass stopper in the neck. This fine scent bottle is offered in good condition. There is a slight bruise to the enamel at the top of the lid but there are no cracks or losses to the beautiful enamel coverings. The bottle has firm hinge and secure closure and intact glass liner.
