SUPER VINTAGE GANDELMAN STUDIO RED CASED ART GLASS PAPERWEIGHT PERFUME SIGNED. A beautiful piece of contemporary American hand-made studio art glass in the form of a gorgeous paperweight style perfume bottle and stopper. It was hand-made by glass artist Roger Gandelman, whose studio, West Rock Art Glass, is in Branford Connecticut. From his website, he appears to specialize mostly in perfume bottles. This perfume bottle is a very heavy “paperweight style” piece and has been part of my personal collection since the year 2009. The piece in my photos is the actual piece you will receive. Please be sure to read the “Age and Condition” and “Approximate Dimensions” paragraphs below. It features two large purple & yellow “pansy-like” flower blossoms, along with multiple smaller pink flower blossoms and green colored glass “vines” within the crystal or clear colored glass that “connects” everything together. The beauty of this piece is enhanced by the fact that this is “cased” glass with a layer of red or cranberry colored glass inside the crystal or clear colored glass exterior. Everything is further enhanced by the fact that the artist has ground and polished flat areas over the flower blossoms on two opposite sides of the perfume bottle. This is all very skillfully done in the “lampwork” technique, which is working colored glass “canes” into the inside of the piece while the glass is in a near molten state. This takes great skill and this artist is definitely a master. The unpolished areas of the bottle have been given what I would describe as a “marigold” colored iridized or “carnival glass finish”. The base of the perfume bottle is scratch signed on the underside with what appears to me to read: “Gandelman” and “’09”. I do my best to describe all items as accurately as possible and to the best of my ability. Some of my photos may be somewhat lighter or darker than actual to better show detail or color. Please look closely at the photos as they are an important part of my description of this item. There are no chips, flea bites, cracks, hairlines or repairs and no signs of use. Basically, it looks like new. Please keep in mind these photos can be blown up at least 8X-10X times normal, so anything you see will look 8X-10X times larger than it really is. Please note: if you see a dark spot in the photos it is from my camera and is not a mark on the piece. It will be either just to the right of center towards the bottom or slightly above center on the right side of the photo. It is about 2.75″ (7 cm) left to right across the widest point by about 2″ (5.1 cm) front to back across the two polished sides and stands about 5 (12.7 cm) tall at the top of the stopper. 625 ounce (470 grams).
