This small lockable chest is only about 3 5/8″ wide at the top x 2 1/4″ deep x 2 1/2 tall and extremely well made from thick wood, covered with grained veneer black leather with embossed borders and rounded corners, with a slightly flared footed base with 4 tiny, raised metal corner pins on the bottom. Weight is heavy for its size at 7.8 ounces or 222 grams. Inside the chest are 2 individual compartments lined in green silk with textured leather borders at the top. The inside of the top is also lined in green silk, en suite. The brass hardware is an 8 pronged hinged attached with 6 blued screws. The top locking mechanism is a stud protrusion with a hole for the locking lever, attached with 4 screws. The bottom locking plate is brass with a polished steel hexagonal front piece secured with 2 small pins. The key is missing; however, the case is in mint condition, and so the lock is certain to work with a replacement key. The top stud engages into the base hold to secure the top snugly with a snap. The two small cylindrical hand-blown thick cut crystal bottles are only about 2 1/8″ tall x 1 3/8″ diameter. Both are in fine condition with cut shoulders to the top edges with threaded necks and traces of perfume residue. Both bottles have the orginal tight fitting crystal stoppers. Both bottles have a thin threaded silver mushroom top with an engraved crest on top that is uninscribed. There are no chips to the bottles or stoppers, no dings or dents to the thin, delicate silver tops. The interior silk lining and exterior leather veneer are in mint condition.
