There is today, by far, more FAKE Murano glass on the market than there is genuine! INVEST IN THE REAL THING : All genuine Murano art glass is made ONLY on the small island group of MURANO, in Venice Bay, Italy. The enclave’s closely guarded formulas, techniques and traditions date back to the thirteenth century-1292. They also commonly use mis-leading labels reading, ” Vetro Eseguito Secondo La Tecnica Dei Maestri Di Murano ” (Italian words meaning only: “Glass made according to the techniques of the masters of Murano”). They imply that they are made in Murano using their unique skills, which they ARE NOT. These manufacturers, importers, and sellers are trying to CHEAT YOU! Don’t let it happen.
