I love this precious vintage early 1900s red velvet perfume caddy with two cut glass Heliotrope Ylang Ylang perfume bottles. Sadly, I have moved into a smaller home and need to downsize my collection. The velvet shows wear in a few areas (see pictures). One bottle has an inside crack (see picture). The bottle stopper tips show some wear. The bottom left of the liner will pull from the side. The caddy measurements are 4″x3″.

Vintage early 1900 red velvet perfume caddy with two perfume bottles. The caddy measures 4″x 3″. The lower lining has an area that has separated from the side. The velvet has a few worn areas. (See Pictures) The two perfume bottles may not be the original perfume bottles. They have Ylang Ylang White Heliotrope tape on the neck. One bottle has an inner crack. The tips of the lids show signs of wear. The size of the perfume holder band within the caddy is a standard size.

Just out of a local smoke free house is this fine and rare French Ormolu mounted crystal egg shaped perfume caddy. It has a swan finial that when depressed will mechanically open the crystal egg to reveal two french perfume bottles with acid etched stoppers. The crystal egg is banded with ormolu mounts and is set on a stylized acanthus leaf base. It measures about 7 1/2 inches tall and about 3 3/4 inches wide. The perfume bottles with their acid etched rose stoppers measure about 2 5/8 inches high and about 15/16 inches wide. They are both marked France and numbered 876. It is in very good condition. The perfume bottles appear to have never been filled or used. There is only some slight wear to the gold on the mechanical shaft and the inner areas of the egg mounts. See photos as they are part of the description. Would make a nice addition to any collection and is guaranteed as described. An exceptionally fine antique 19th Century French perfume caddy by Alphonse Giroux, a cabinetmaker of the Napoleon III era whose works are highly revered as the finest in Paris during this time period, of a caliber as Tahan and Vervelle. This superb perfume box features elegant serpentine shaping with a slightly domed lid and comprises of alternating kingwood veneers. Embellished with gilt bronze mounts. The lid decorated with an oval Sevres style porcelain plaque mounted into a bronze framework. Hand painted with a charming vignette of colorful flowers, accented with gilt enamel and a blue border. Working lock and key to the box. Signed on the lock plate with Alph. Giroux et Cie, Paris. Opening to reveal a fitted interior housing four elegant Baccarat cut crystal scent bottles with faceted stoppers, hand painted with gilt flourishes and trim. Polished pontils to the bases. Unsigned but undoubtedly early Baccarat bottles that predate the 1936 acid etched labels. The famed cristallerie used paper labels from 1860 to 1936, which often got lost, worn or washed away. In good condition with some wear commensurate with age and use. The bottles are all matching and appear to be original to the box. One bottle is cracked and one bottle has a chip to the edge of the rim, as shown, a couple of nicks to a stopper or two. Measures 8 1/8″ length x 5 5/8″ wide x 4 1/2 tall. The bottles measure 3″ height x 1 3/4″ wide. Specializing in producing fine objects d’art and exquisite furniture for a list of wealthy clientele and patronized by members of the French Royal Family, including Louis XVIII, Charles X, Henri V and especially Napoleon III and Empress Eugénie. Giroux was also a relative of Louis Jacques Mandé Daguerre, the French artist and scientist who invented the daguerreotype. Giroux contributed to Daguerre’s success by making the first production of the camera, “La Daguerrotype, ” in fine walnut. In 1838, the business was taken over by his eldest son, Alphonse Gustave Giroux. Under his guidance and innovative planning, the business grew to become one of the first and most prestigious department stores in Paris, while continuing to take important commissions for custom work. The firm received a silver medal at the 1839 Exposition des l’Industrie Francaise and produced pieces for the World Exposition of 1855. Welcome to the Antique Boutique. This is a late 1700s fine shagreen travel etui, case, or scent caddy. The 3 remaining (of 4 originally) scent bottles are each capped in 18k gold (tested and marked with tiniest French punch), along with the original matching 18k gold funnel in it’s mount. The 4th 18k gold cap is with the set, but its flacon (bottle) must have been broken over the 250 years or so since it was created. The pushbutton and hinge are also 18k gold. This was one of the very finest made. Most had sterling silver caps, funnels, and most miss even more of the original contents. One flask still has perfume in it, the tiny stopper broken off and stuck in the neck. One can oil-soak it out. I’ve often thought I would just to see how the perfume is by now. A light linger of a lovely scent is all I can access. One other flask has its stopper loose (see images of all bits together). A fabulous tiny etui, 2.25″ tall and long, and 1″ deep. Entirely crafted by hand, every bit. Very good to excellent condition for age and type. Noted as above, one tiny stopper is broken off and stuck, like broken by someone trying to force it out. Perfume remains in that one. One of the remaining 2 has it’s perfect little stopper. The 4 18k gold caps are shown, included, though only 3 original flacon, flasks are present. The original tiny funnel remains, lovely condition. The shagreen is splendid, still. One can review our photos to evaluate the small area by the 18k gold hinge that is disrupted. This set is around 250 years old to 200 at least. Museums date theirs c. Fabulous rare collection piece for the most sophisticated perfume collector. I’m aware, too, high end doll collectors love these for their doll’s dresser tops. We’re easy to deal with. You are very important! Our fine inventory is very important.
