There is today, by far, more FAKE Murano glass on the market than there is genuine! Vtg Art Glass Perfume Bottle Cobalt Blue Sommerso Checkered. Signed A Garcia’98 (Antonio-Garcia Studio by Jesus Garcia). Measures: 4″ ht (without stopper) 5.75″ (including stopper). 2.75″ L x 1.75″ W. No chips and no cracks. This beautiful, hand blown art glass vessel is from Garcia’s Los Angeles glass studio, Antonio-Garcia. Antonio-Garcia is the studio of Jesus Garcia, who descends from a family of well-known Mexican glass makers. Jesus Garcia was born into a family of glassblowers in the town of Guadalajara, Mexico. His father, Teodoro Garcia is a well-respected master of glass blowing in the fine tradition of craftsmen that Mexico has to offer. At the age of 12, Jesus began working with his father in the glass factories and it was not soon after that his father blessed him as master glass blower at the young age of 17. Upon coming to the United States in 1980 Jesus went to work for two very well-established factories in Southern California. In 1994 Jesus branched out on his own to design and produce a line of handblown glass wares. He named the business “Antonio-Garcia Studio”. In 2005 Jesus became incorporated and changed the name to AG Glass Studio, Inc. All the glasswork in the AG Glass Studio line are handblown by Jesus himself. He does not use any type of molds or crack-off torches to expedite the work, therefore they are all handblown from start to finish. Because of the handcrafted process each piece has its own individual character and may vary slightly from one to another. The level of expertise, however, is evident in the fine quality and general consistency of all his work. The AG Glass line encompasses a wide range of glassblowing techniques and includes such items as bowls, vases, perfume vials and paper weights. His work can be found at numerous galleries and shops throughout the United States. All my items are from a smoke-free and pet-free home. Vintage Murano Sommerso Style Large Perfume Bottle w Stopper. Amber, clear with blue colors. Nicely designed perfume bottle that is very solid and heavy. The stopper is very art deco in style with a long clear glass dabber at the end. Sadly the dabber has broken off at the very end. Please see the photos. The stopper sits on the top of the perfume bottle rather than screw into it. At times it can be a bit wobbly as it is not tightly secured into the bottle. Other than the chip on the end of the dabber, we did not see any other chips on the bottle. There are a few scratches here and there from wear. The perfume bottle does not have a maker’s mark on it and it is not signed. Measures about 5.25″ tall by about 4.25″ wide. Pretty perfume bottle to add your perfume in or display as is. Most of our items are donated and are vintage in nature. We do our best to describe items to the best of our knowledge. Thanks for looking and understanding. Vtg Luigi Onesto Vetraria Oball Murano Triple Sommerso Art Glass Perfume Bottle Blue and Green Swirl, Bulls Eye Stopper. Excellent condition, no chips, cracks or flea bites. 3-1/2 x 3-1/2 by 6 tall. Weight of this piece is 2.65 lbs before packaging. GORGEOUS colors to this piece, deep blue and greens. This piece has unique squared off edges, and a ground pontil to the base. A few tiny bubbles can be seen. The matching stopper has no chips, cracks or fleabites either. Very rare to find these without damage. There are some fine scratches to the bottom consistent with age. There is no label any longer on this piece, though it is a classic Luigi or Michele Onesto Murano piece. Note: There is a bit of residue in the bottom inside, as I think someone used it for flowers.
