One of the finest condition of these we’ve seen in ages, with the high gilded alloy ormolu still bright, the mirror still very nice (deep beveled glass) and both perfume or scent bottles intact with their original stoppers – mother of pearl shell scalloped to perfection and shimmering a rainbow of pearlescent appeal. These trinkets are mid-Victorian, or in France, from the Napoleon III era c. The measurements can be found on photos. Very good to excellent for age and type, this is an exceptionally fine scent caddy, trinket stand. The natural mother of pearl shell retains its fine pearlescent shimmer of color, ranging pinks to green (best), and there are no breaks, cracks, chips. An unusual scalloped upper rim adds appeal. Mirror is remarkably unscathed by time, the old original with deep heavy beveled glass – original. Scent bottles are 1 diameters and fit perfectly, as do their original faceted stoppers. 19th Century French Scent Casket with. 2 Perfume Cologne Bottles. These are souvenirs from the Victorian. Grand Tour era 1860. Would travel all over Europe for culture. Antique French Eglomise Grand Tour Souvenir Scent or Perfume Flask, Bottle, Chatelaine, Invalides. All items and photos are the express property of Antiques & Uncommon Treasure. With a superb mother of pearl-backed painting of “Hotel du Invalides” (Paris, now with tomb of Napoleon), this larger sized scent bottle is in remarkably fine condition for age. Dating early 1800s to perhaps 1860s, it still has its working cork, and the mirror backing is bright and reflective. A little secondary souvenir view in cap in the form of a tiny Stanhope (clear frosted glass with a tiny architectural image also on it, viewed a little like through a tiny telescope or magnifying glass). Very good to excellent condition for age and type. Set there in the crown of the cork top is a little Stanhope, but the image within is slightly dislodged so I can’t tell you what it is. I can see it floating, but it is the single’flaw’ notable, really. No even a nip or chip to that thick beveled glass on either side. The painting is perfectly preserved, as well. Full measurements are noted on our photos. There are 2 sizes of this chatelaine’palm’ scent, and this is the largest of all. We’re easy to deal with. You are very important! Antique Victorian Grand Tour French Perfume Bottle, 5 Eglomise Views of Paris. All items and photos are the express property of Antiques & Uncommon Treasure. We’ve just bought the collection of a longtime good customer, and will have 31 pieces in all listing soon. The term, “eglomise” refers to a decorative technique of painting on the backside of glass. These are each little works of art. The collection varies from c. Will describe each as listed. Nearly 5 tall French blown glass scent bottle elaborate ormolu encasement and 5 views of Paris monuments (1 with a hairline crack). Complete with stopper, it is 4.75″ tall and 2 7/8″ square at base, this one has no chips breaks, damage to the ormolu collar and hinged cap mount, it has no other flaws to note, other than a hairline across the one side panel which view is of the Concord. Complete with 5 views of the Grand Tour architectural monuments a traveler would have enjoyed taking home: Pantheon (lid), Medici Palace, Madaliene Cathedral, Arch de Triomphe and the Concord one which has a hairline crack to the cover glass. I’ve always just displayed it with the Concord panel to the back view, and then it looks perfect. Possible to have that glass panel replaced, but it is the old slightly convex one and so we’ve left it as found and we’ve left that decision to its next owner.
