Unusual Antique Miniature Perfume Bottle Chatelaine With Sterling Top. This little beauty is quite unusual and in great condition. It has pink background, on one side there are enameled flowers, on the other side it has a mono of the initials EF, very beautifully and ornate done. The loop on top is for hanging on a chatelaine or to be able to wear on a necklace as a pendant. The sterling top is hallmarked, unfortunately its worn and therefore unreadable. One stopper has it’s original bullnosed dobber and the other stopper has been broken off. One bottle also has the neck broken off but with this stopper, it does not show when displayed. No other cracks, chips, flea bites or anomalies other than what is mentioned above and one bottle has an acid stamped base saying Czechslovakia. Chamade was created by Jean-Paul Guerlain in 1967 launched in 1969, and it was inspired by the Francoise Sagan’s novel La Chamade. In the time of Napoleon, chamade was a very fast drumbeat that called to retreat. This perfume is meant to emulate the heavy heartbeat of a person in love and its fragrance is based on hyacinth, heavy and green, and blackcurrant that can be sensed through the oily hyacinth richness. The fragrant love story is rounded by a pretty bottle in a shape od upside down turned heart, pierced by an arrow a symbol of surrender to love. The main notes are Turkish rose, ylang-ylang, jasmine, lilac, blackcurrant buds, lily of the valley, galbanum, sandalwood, vetiver, musk, amber, iris, and Tonka bean. Eau de Toilette is much sharper, while Eau de Perfume is warmer and nicer. The full richness of the composition, however, is revealed only in the perfume concentration. Unusual perfume presentation by Prince Matchabelli for the fragrance AVE MARIA. This is a sealed bottle, loss of perfume is due to evaporation. Bottle measures 3.5 tall. Bottle is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Glass stopper has the Matchabelli log. THe gold label shows signs of age.
